General Advice

Detailed underground access guides (including step count, level platform access etc.) may be available to view and download from AccessAble, or through the relevant TFL pages linked below.View or download TFL’s Tube Map and Step-Free Tube Map for detailed info on each station and to plan your journey.

Download the TFL Go App for live maps and route tracking, arrivals and departure times at stops near you, real time updates on traffic and delays, station information, step-free journey planning, and more. (iOS, Android)

Expect road closures and bus diversions due to large numbers of people making their way to the event.

Road closures and crowds will likely prevent taxi drop-offs from being made directly to the start or end point.

Be prepared to disembark from transport a short distance away from main roads and travel to Langham Place/Trafalgar Square on foot.

Advice

In addition to the categories below, a protest guidance packet has been put together by Liberty UK, specifically for attendees of London Trans+ Pride 2026 to be aware of their legal rights around protest - Download here!!

Face Masks

We strongly encourage attendees to wear FFP2 medical face masks as a measure to protect our immunocompromised comrades on the day.

There will be a masked section at the front of Access Bloc – find this zone at the very front of the march.

We advise attendees to take a Covid-19 swab test before arriving in the interest of collective health. Stay home if you feel you are/could be ill! Stay home if you feel you are/could be ill!

For those who can’t be there in person a livestream will be broadcast on the London Trans+ Pride Youtube channel from 13:45 BST.

Counter-Protestors

As always we’re keeping a close eye on any potential disturbances or threats from the far right and counter-protesters.

Our teams will have been briefed on emergency preparedness in the event of an incident.

We typically have minimal disruption or threat of outside harm on the day. Nonetheless, in the interest of safety we advise attendees to arrive and leave together, and to not go anywhere alone.

Police

Officially this presence is a legal requirement at any Central London demo; their primary role on the day is to prioritise managing road closures and facilitating traffic safety.

The police are not paid by London Trans+ Pride.

We do not anticipate a significant risk of kettling or arrest, but there is always a possibility of confrontation on their part, particularly given new guidance around police powers during protest.

To avoid having to deal with police as much as possible, we suggest avoiding the very back of the march area. If approached we advise that you try to not speak in any depth with Met officers without an LEO or steward present.

We’ve been facing a summer of unprecedented heatwaves and temperatures that present a real danger to life and health.

Saturday 25th July is predicted to be cloudy but hot - we encourage you to prepare for intense heat and full sun to be on the safe side.

Water bottles, hats, sunblock, and sun-protective clothing are a must!

Be aware of how the heat can and will affect your safety and wellbeing on the day, particularly for disabled and neurodiverse attendees!

Ensure you hydrate adequately, rest and seek shade when needed, and that you’re okay to be out in hot weather for an extended period safely.

If in doubt, overestimate how hot you’ll get.

In the event of a severe (red) weather warning on the day, London Trans+ Pride 2026 could be subject to short-term cancellation - our team cannot in good conscience host an event of this scale should the weather or temperature pose a guaranteed hazard.

London Trans+ Pride 2026 will be supported by 900+ volunteer stewards – the most we’ve ever had!

Read about the different levels of stewards and support staff you’ll come across below.

General Stewards (Purple high-vis)

Positioned throughout the march and stationed at key locations along the route and near the start and end points.

Their role is to help with managing the crowd & march blocs, act as ushers & guides for attendees, and generally assist wherever they are needed.

Some will be carrying limited supplies of earplugs, hand sanitiser, masks, change for toilets, Radar Keys, sweets, and drinking water that they can provide on request.

Need something? Ask a steward. If they can’t help you personally, they should be able to direct you to a team member, medic, or welfare officer who can!

Welfare Staff (Pink/coral high-vis)

Several Welfare Officers from Safe Only will also be present on the day to support. Welfare staff are particularly well-versed in helping people feel grounded and supported when having a hard time, or experiencing a meltdown/overwhelm. They may be able to help where a normal steward or medic can’t.

Security & Safeguarding Staff (Black high-vis)

Security Staff from Safe Only are intended to be an additional, community-based means of keeping our march and community safer. Their role prioritizes harm-reduction and deescalation in the event of conflict.

LT+P Access Team (Light blue high-vis)

Dedicated members of LT+P’s Access Team will be able to assist with accessibility and disability related enquiries and asks. They are typically stationed in the Access Bloc at the front of the march for its duration, and near the Access tent and/or accessible viewing and seating area at the endpoint.

Medics (Green high-vis)

A small team of volunteer stewards with first-aid and medic experience will be available throughout to assist where possible with any health-related issues, illness, or minor injuries that could arise. Volunteer medics will support the dedicated, on-call medical staff for the day.

Legal Observers (Orange high-vis)

Independent Legal Observers will be present as a standard demo safety measure.

They can also distribute bust cards with information on interacting with law enforcement and other legal guidance.

Medics & First-Aiders

Dedicated medical staff will be present on-site, and on-call for any emergencies during the event.

Two medi-bikes and hired medics will ride along with the march, and an ambulance will be stationed near the march’s end-point.

** Remember: marches are physically demanding and the exertion and summer heat can quickly exacerbate fatigue, hypoglycemia, seizures, and other conditions.

Know your physical limits, take breaks as needed, and make sure to have a basic plan of action in case anything goes awry.**

Other Volunteers & Staff

A number of volunteers and staff will not be wearing high-vis, but will be assisting on the day as runners, photographers, press handlers, liaisons, etc. They will be wearing black “Event Staff” lanyards.
